T&S Group takes lead in prison work

T&S Group has won almost £4m worth of new contracts for its Security Engineering division and established a sector-leading position with monthly turnover for the year averaging around £1.4m.
Last year T&S won the UK's largest ever single contract for prison windows and high security grilles - around £3m - at Featherstone Prison, and has now been awarded the contract to supply around 1,700 cell door units for the same project.
Other contracts won by T&S Group include:-
• Warren Hill Prison, Suffolk - for Kier Build - products for a new accommodation unit, working with the Youth Justice Board.
• Erlestoke Prison, Wiltshire - for Kier Build - fast track design and fabrication of products for new accommodation unit.
• Birmingham Prison - Complex Victorian cell window grille refurbishment for Wates Construction and NOMS (National Offender management Service).
• Littlehey Prison, Cambridgeshire - Design and manufacture of complex multi-building high security gates.
• Parc Prison, South Wales - following on from an earlier contract, extra products for ancillary buildings and custodial furniture.
• Brinsford Prison, Wolverhampton and Glen Parva Prison, Leicester - cell window and grille refurbishment project, working directly for NOMS.
Commenting on the latest contract wins, T&S Group Managing Director, Jamie Smith, said:
"The volume of work that is now being won by our Security Engineering division, in this very demanding sector, is testament to the quality standards we insist on and the impressive lead times we can deliver. Even with these recent successes our production capacity is still well short of its limit and we are now actively seeking to secure additional orders to confirm our position as top performers in this sector in the UK."
