T&S Group has been turning orders into new jobs across its five companies with a trend-defying start to the New Year.

The Group has taken its total number of staff to 53 with further significant additions to the team planned for later in the year.

Since T&S opened two new factories back in August, to manufacture products for T&S Security Engineering and T&S Furniture - both companies who work predominantly in the secure accommodation market - it has steadily increased its workforce.

New contracts secured since the start of the year have included 15 separate prison projects, five of which are for the Prison Service and the remainder for construction companies. T&S Furniture has also landed more than £300,000 worth of new work and has its sights set on more than £2m of work during 2009.

T&S Electrical Contractors and T&S Mechanical meanwhile have landed contracts for work in the re-fit of five Vodafone stores across the UK

Commenting on the Group's expansion, Managing Director, Jamie Smith said:

"Although trading conditions continue to be tough we are attracting new enquiries and new contracts. This is very encouraging and does justify the £500,000 investment we made in our production facilities last year. "If we can sustain current work levels and are able to convert a reasonable ratio of our current enquiries we should be looking to create at least another 30 jobs during this year."
