T&S Group has won the largest single order ever placed for grilles and windows within the UK custodial market - worth more than £3m.

The Group’s Security Engineering and Windows divisions will manufacture 2,400 windows and high security grilles for the 1700 place Category B ‘Mini Titan Prison’ extension to Featherstone Prison - a contract that will continue throughout 2010. T&S Group will be working for construction company Kier Build who won the £185m Ministry of Justice contract. The prison is scheduled for completion in 2012.

All of the windows and grilles will be manufactured at T&S’ state-of-the-art factories in Tuxford, which were opened last year, in response to a growing workload in the secure accommodation sector. In recent months the company has worked at most of the major prisons in the UK, and established itself as one of the leading companies in its sector.

Commenting on this major coup, T&S Group Managing Director, Jamie Smith, said: “This is great news for everyone connected with T&S, and not only provides us with a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate how well we can deliver on a project of this scale, but also gives us a fantastic platform from which to develop new business opportunities and realise our exciting expansion plans.”
